Los Angeles Vine Wine

Are you aware that there are Vines in Los Angeles older than the city of Los Angeles itself?  Well, there are.  Two vines can be found in our very own "Olvera Street" the very center of Los Angeles if you consider the established date and how the city expanded in all directions from that very point.  Brought here by the very same Missionaries that founded the Missions in CA.
Los Angeles used to be a strong player in the production of Wine before Prohibition and contributed to the LA Wine scene from the very beginning.  The LA River use to flourish with Wine making Grape vines but that all changed when Prohibition demonized the innocent grape that only wanted to give itself to us in the form of Wine.
Brought back to life by a dedicated Angelino Michael Holland, a wine was finally made with the oldest vines in LA planted possibly in 1818 the same year Avila Adobe was erected.  Pulling in all his sources he was able to revive the vines that survived all these years.  The origin is of course old world "Vitis Vinefera", but as a hybrid also has the essence of the California "Vitis Girdiana" which explains the survival of this Vine.
I have not had the pleasure of tasting this wine yet,  Believe me when I say that I am doing all with in my grasp to get my hands on a bottle.  Should any one of you be as fortunate to get a hold of a bottle of the elusive, "ANGELICA" (properly named) bottle, feel free to send me one to my PO BOX.
